What is TurfGro ?

Sourced from 100% composted organic waste,TurfGro features a sustained source of nutrientsand minerals needed for optimal lawn growth,plus excellent water retention properties thanksto its unique blend.TurfGros low bulk density means it's easier to work with as well. It's washed ( and balanced particle size) course sand mix allowing for greater water permeability and air filled porosity.The absence of silt reduces compaction often experienced in inferior blends, whilst the finecrushed basalt enriches the mineral value aswell as giving the mix structure and continuedfriability allowing for a deep root structure.

THE NEED FOR A GOOD FOUNDATION

Building foundations made from inferior materials will cause failure of the buildings laid on them. Likewise with turf, ifthe foundation is comprised of poorly drained and inferior materials, the turf will grow poorly, look poor and even die.There is nothing more distressing than a deteriorating lawn that becomes an eyesore in the garden.Most turf " underlays" are simply described as " suitable fill under turf"... now you have a better choice!

THE PRODUCT

A good growing medium will supply grass roots with a balanced mix of water, air and nutrients. Turfco's Premium TurfGro is a complete growing medium formulated specifically for optimal turf growth containing a formulated mix of course sand,Vita grow ( 100% composted green waste) and basalt fines. This blend has been achieved from long- term research withstringent quality controls together with extensive resource availability.Turfco's on- farm and on- site trials coupled with extensive research into turf growing media has led to the developmentof the ideal foundation for initial turf establishment and long term performance of the sward.The foundation has been particularly produced for Soft Leaf Buffalo Turf but is equally supportive of other varieties ofturf, such has been the success of this foundation that it has been endorsed with exclusive licensing of the productionby Sir Walter Premium Lawn Turf.

BENEFITS

Turfgro has little detectable odour, unlike many products available on the market containing fowl manure.TurfGro is a friable material that has low bulk density, which will reduce labour content and cartage costs. It is easilyworked due to the balanced material content and remains friable, even after compaction, which is significantly reduceddue to material components.TurfGro is physically stable reducing slumping and settling, is weed free and retains nutrient levels due to its activemineral components. Due to this structural stability, TurfGro supports root growth and structure allowing for strongand healthy growth of turf.
